Few of us probably don’t remember Nintendo’s legendary Game Boy handheld console, which saw a real boom in video games in the ’90s. The more powerful original model, which arrived in Europe in 1990, was followed by the more convenient Game Boy Pocket, the more modern Game Boy Color, and finally the more modern Game Boy Advanced. For more than a decade, thousands of games have been released for them, a wide range of different accessories have been sold, and more than 100 million console copies have been sold worldwide.
However, we have good news for all those who are missing out on the legendary Game Boy. The American company Analogue has announced that it will once again introduce a mobile game console called Pocket. This game can run up to 3000 ready-made games for Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advanced. The new device features an 8.9 cm or 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1600 x 1440 pixels, which is ten times more than the legendary Game Boy.
The Analogue Pocket mobile game console is not only for game lovers, but also for creators. The console is equipped with a Nanoloop digital audio workstation, which is suitable for music creation and performance. In addition, inside it is a programmable FPGA circuit, which will undoubtedly employ budding developers. Unfortunately, novelty will not come cheap. Due to the lack of electronic components, the entry level version of the handheld game console is valued at 194 euros.
