Some time ago, AMD launched the Ryzen 5000 family of processors, which are based on Zen 3 processor cores and can easily compete with Intel products. The new arrivals are manufactured with the help of improved 7nm technology, more precisely “7nm + EUV”, which has proven itself in the microprocessor field. So it’s no surprise that Threadripper Ryzen server processors will be available soon, which will also be based on advanced Zen 3 cores and offer a good number of new advanced technologies.
This will be the 5000WX family of Ryzen Threadripper PRO server processors, which promises a lot, on paper at least. The most powerful processor in the new family will be the Ryzen Threadripper 5995WX. It will use up to 64 physical cores or 128 virtual cores at 2.7 GHz to transfer data. When fully loaded, the frequency will reach 4.55 GHz. In addition, the novelty will support a four-channel controller of system memory DDR4-3200 and, of course, the PCI Express 4.0 data bus. This should give modern servers more processing power, which means that they will perform certain tasks faster. However, the electricity consumption will be slightly lower compared to current models, however, it will still be 280 watts.
The Ryzen Threadripper 5000WX server processor family will have to wait a little longer, but not much. AMD will present it at CES 2022 in January. It is expected to hit the market in March 2022. It should also be noted that the new AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5000WX server processors will be equipped with an sWRX8 socket and will be compatible with the WRX80 range.
