This is the best emulator…

Want to play PlayStation 3 games on your PC too? The best emulator is now available which supports almost every game.

Wikipedia lists 2517 official games for the Sony PlayStation 3 console, and the latest version of the RPCS3 emulator can now play any of them.

RPCS3 was originally released in May 2011 and has gradually improved its compatibility over the past decade. Each game is categorized as “None”, “Downloadable”, “Intro”, “Engame” and “Playable” in the compatibility list. According to Kotaku, the emulator has now reached a point where there is no known game categorized as None, so at least every game can be loaded.

Currently, only 0.19% of PS3 games are in the “Loadable” rating in this compatibility state. Of the remaining 5.75%, coming to the “Introduction” menus, 30.53% can be played but cannot be completed, there are serious errors or problems with the capacity of “Ingame”, and 63.53% can be completed without errors or significant errors (“playable”).

The emulator runs on Windows, Linux, and FreeBSD, requires at least 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended), x86-64 CPU and GPU with OpenGL 4.3 or Vulcan support and is completely free. If you have any of the 2517 PS3 games and want to play them using the emulator, you can first check how well they play by looking for each game in the RPCS3 compatibility list.
