Completion of acceptance of applications for participation in the national competition “Youth Capital of Ukraine 2023”. In 2021, 34 applications were submitted from cities in 19 regions of Ukraine. 8 regional centers and 26 cities participate in the competition. Khmelnytskyi region will be represented by Gorodok and Slavuta.
The main criterion for selecting applicants and winners is the interest of cities and their ability to qualitatively change youth policy at the city and regional level, making youth policy a priority for community development, as well as the involvement of young people and their formal and informal associations and the public – working in this field.
The purpose of the competition is to summarize and disseminate the best European and world practices in the field of youth policy, exchange experiences for young people from different parts of Ukraine, hold thematic events throughout the year to actively involve young people in all spheres of life at the local and regional levels.

It should be noted that the Youth Capital of Ukraine is an all-Ukrainian competition held annually to celebrate the best city to live and develop youth. The competition has been held since 2017, at the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Institute of International Policy and the National Youth Council of Ukraine. The Association of Ukrainian Cities is the official partner in organizing and running the competition.
It is reported that Khmelnitsky last year fought for the title of Youth Capital, but lost to Osteroh.
