It can be easily filled from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 15 minutes. However, in order to start using the novelty in practice, engineers tested it at temperatures from 25 ° C to 45 ° C. Their purpose was to determine how durable the new battery really was.

QuantumScape’s solid state battery measurements were very encouraging. After eliminating 400 cycles, the battery retained 80 percent of its initial capacity. If used in an electric car, it can travel about 257,500 kilometers. However, before a solid-state battery can be used to start the QuantumScape in electric vehicles, experts will need to double the battery cycles. This means that the battery will need to maintain 80 percent or more of its initial capacity in a solid state even after 800 charge cycles.
