Many well-known companies have recently decided to develop SSDs that will be equipped with a PCI Express 5.0 interface. It’s a new generation of data interface, powered primarily by Intel’s new Alder Lake-S processors. The new SSDs will be based on completely new controllers and will use V-NAND TLC memory elements.
PCI Express 5.0 will soon be introduced in the field of graphics cards, MSI recently explained, with the development of a new family of power supplies for personal computers. These have a new connector with up to 16 pins available. In practice, this means that new graphics cards will be able to consume significantly more graphics power. There is even talk of graphical shortcuts up to 600 watts.
MSI has prepared up to five power supplies with a dedicated PCI Express 5.0 or PCI-E 5.0 connector. However, the first graphics card equipped with it is likely to be the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. Retail prices for MSI’s new power supplies will be revealed soon.
