Starlink Satellite Internet Now…

Starlink satellite Internet from SpaceX is now faster and more expensive, but only for those with a large wallet.

SpaceX is preparing to launch a new Starlink “Premium” satellite internet upgrade, which will increase download speeds up to 500Mbps. However, the service will not be cheap.

Upgrading to Premium will cost $500 per month, which is a significant increase from the $99 currently paid by Starlink users. Additionally, Premium users must submit a one-time fee of $2,500 for the larger satellite dish; The standard “Palette” costs $499.

One of the pluses is that the “Premium” satellite dish can perform better thanks to a new “high-performance antenna”, tweeted SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.

“Starlink Premium has more than twice the antenna capacity compared to the standard package, delivering faster internet speeds and higher productivity for the most demanding users, including businesses,” the company added in a press release.

The new subscription also promises a more stable internet connection “even during peak network usage”. However, transfer speeds may not always reach 500Mbps. Instead, the company says the internet connection speed will range from 150Mbps to 500Mbps. 150 Mbps is the current speed that a normal antenna can provide.

The company has not (yet) published any specifications, but wrote on the website: “Starlink Premium is designed to improve performance in extreme weather conditions. Users will also benefit from “24 hours a day, 7 days a week” (24/7), a priority the support. “

Pre-orders for the Premium package are already open, and there are already a lot of them. They also plan to supply the first units this year, in the second quarter. The problem is the lack of chips. As a result, they had to postpone the pre-orders of many customers.
