Huawei presents in Slovenia the Huawei Watch GT Runner. The all-new wearable brings together the best of the popular Watch GT series, but also introduces new features that will delight runners.
The Huawei Watch GT Runner smartwatch includes the new HuaweiTruSeen 5.0+ technology[1] With dynamic and accurate monitoring of heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) while running. The industry’s first hidden “suspended” antenna and dual-band satellite receiver with support for five systems ensure highly accurate tracking in all conditions of use.
In addition to powerful hardware components and precise monitoring capabilities, the most long-awaited functions are the RAI calculation and the automatic design of the exercise program based on scientific results. With the Huawei TruSport Professional Training System, runners have access to in-depth analysis, which gives an overview of training intensity, training volume, recovery time and the like, while the RAI allows an objective assessment of running skills. Thanks to the new capabilities of the Huawei Watch GT Runner, every runner will soon be setting new records.
With the new Huawei TruSeen 5.0+ technology, the new smartwatch is the most accurate in the Watch GT series. In addition, you can share the data recorded in the Health app with other sports apps[2] For more convenient use of the wearable watch and comparison of results with other runners.
Professional training to adjust personal records
For most runners, understanding running performance is a complex process. So the Huawei Watch GT Runner calculates the RAI based on TruSport technology, which is the basis for understanding the physical capabilities. Even if a runner doesn’t reach their limits, the system calculates a RAI and rates running performance based on a recorded history of heart rate, pace, distance and other past training data. The new smartwatch is also equipped with a smart dynamic tuning plan that focuses on the previous index and workloads. In addition, it displays other data such as fatigue rate, exercise index, and aerobic/anaerobic training levels to help the runner analyze his condition and adjust the training plan to improve personal results.
Based on the professional fitness analysis provided by TruSport technology, Huawei has developed an individualized training program[3], based on scientific principles. Based on the physical data and training history along with the training goals, the user can customize the training plans in the Huawei Health app. Huawei Watch GT Runner will record and analyze workouts, intelligently determine running intervals according to the user’s current sporting ability and goals, and gradually increase the range of workouts to improve their running skills.
New Huawei TruSeen 5.0+ technology with important milestones
The Huawei Watch GT Runner supports Huawei TruSeen 5.0+ technology with a new optical sensor with eight circular photodiodes, dynamic heart rate monitoring, multiple input signals and improved overall heart rate measurement accuracy. With the new smartwatch, Huawei has introduced a 2.5D ergonomically designed back with carefully curved glass that matches the characteristics of the wrist bones. The design is not only comfortable to wear, but also better adapts to the wrist, effectively reducing ambient light and improving the quality of optical heart rate measurement. Between the lamps, photodiodes and the bottom glass is a shield made of Fresnel foil, which, in addition to aesthetics, has a better intensifying effect. Therefore, more light penetrates into the dermis of the skin (dermis) and reflects more from the capillaries during the measurement, which affects the accuracy of the measurement. Huawei also designed a new algorithm to analyze multi-channel signals and understand measurements, which is more anti-interference thanks to deep learning of artificial intelligence. Even during movement, when the watch is not completely at rest, the sensor is able to get an optimal signal.
The most accurate smartwatch to date
In the process of developing the new Huawei TruSeen 5.0+ technology, a lot of effort has been put into achieving accurate heart rate monitoring. Thanks to the new module (PPG 5.0), the optical sensor achieves an accuracy of 97.4% between different applications[4], which can be compared to the accuracy of the assigned heart rate bands. With its robust troubleshooting design and software algorithms, Huawei TruSeen 5.0+ technology can handle the difficult measurement of heart rate while on the move thus improving accuracy in all forms of exercise.
The Huawei Watch GT Runner also offers excellent capabilities for monitoring satellite signals despite its compact and lightweight body. Support is provided by GPS, Beidou, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS satellite systems. In addition, the watch has a built-in dual-band, five-system receiver (GNSS chip) with a “suspended” antenna hidden in the “ears” of the polymer fiber casing. This reduces interference to radio reception caused by metallic materials. The innovative design improves signal reception by 135% compared to the traditional design, which solves the problem of balancing the accuracy of satellite tracking and the design of the built-in smart watch. This enables accurate tracking at the marathon level, without changing the track recorded from the running track.
Aerodynamic design for a more comfortable fit
Lightweight materials, such as high-strength polymer fibers that match the ultra-light ceramic case and titanium alloy crown, have been used to craft the new smartwatch’s case. As a result, the watch case weighs only 38.5 grams[5], which in practice means that the runner can hardly feel it while running. In addition to comfort, the antibacterial silicone strap prevents sweat and dirt from sticking to it. For the Huawei Watch GT Runner smartwatch, an exclusive digital dial (watch face) is available to display important data for runners that can be customized according to actual needs.
A smart tool for all day use
The Huawei Watch GT Runner smartwatch has inherited the long battery life that distinguishes Watch GT series watches. Availability 14 days[6] Run in typical use cases or autonomy for 8 days per use request. Combined with smart features and body-marking features, it is thus the perfect companion for the serious runner.
The new watch has a built-in pressure gauge in addition to all other sensors and can act as a compass to ensure the user’s safety outdoors. It also allows you to play music from your own memory, where there is space for up to 500 songs, to your connected wireless headphones. In addition, it undermines continuous health monitoring, including heart rate and the possibility of warning in case of arrhythmia[7]. It’s powered by HarmonyOS 2.1 with support for a rich app ecosystem[8] from various fields.
As a smartwatch, Huawei Watch GT Runner pushes the boundaries of Huawei wearables with more than 30 third-party apps from the categories of daily tasks, travel, entertainment, work, fitness, and health. Runners and exercise enthusiasts will enjoy apps like Adidas Runtastic, Fitify, Komoot, and Health Sync. Huawei will increase its numbers in the coming months.
Compatible with Android and iOS.
Huawei Watch GT Runner can be connected to an iOS or Android smartphone. All you have to do is download the Huawei Health app, and then all the activity recording and health and fitness monitoring functions will be available to you. Including a smart plan for dynamic adjustment and achieving a healthy lifestyle.
Huawei Watch GT Runner is available in Slovenia at a recommended price of €299.

[2] Software platforms such as Keep and various fitness devices, such as treadmills, can retrieve exercise data recorded via the Huawei Health app. The watch can also be connected directly to additional devices such as heart rate straps. Since the process depends on the country, contact your local technical support.
[3] The feature requires that the watch be synced with the Huawei Health app.
[4] The data was measured in a Huawei lab. The average accuracy of the heart rate monitor with a measurement threshold of 10 beats per minute during running on a treadmill, outdoors and between long and short runs, was 97%.
[5] Data is measured in Huawei lab and may differ from actual data.
