No more digital content for…

That’s when we have bad news for anyone still using Nintendo DSi and Wii handheld gaming consoles. Nintendo has abruptly stopped selling and developing new games for the not so popular console. This actually means that users can no longer access the Nintendo eShop, including the free and trial versions of the games.

It is worth noting that new games for Nintendo Wii and DSi game consoles could not be purchased for a long time, from 2019 and 2017 respectively, and until now, users only had the option to download the content they purchased in the past. Now, however, this is no longer possible, as the store is no longer accessible. Unfortunately, Nintendo has not released an official statement as to why its services are not available.

The same fate will soon befall users of the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U gaming consoles. Access to the Nintendo eShop will be completely disabled in March of next year. In addition, they will no longer receive software updates. Unfortunately, Nintendo will also prevent them from playing games online.

The first step towards revoking access will begin on August 29 this year. Nintendo 3DS and Wii U users will not be able to add money to the Nintendo eShop Card. Therefore, the transition to newer consoles will become necessary from a practical point of view.
