The two-day event, which will be available in hybrid form, i.e. also via the link, will take place on 7 and 8 April at the AMZS Safe Driving Center in Francisco.
The conference is intended for managers in micro, small and medium companies, entrepreneurs, accounting services, managers and employees in human resources, managers and employees in marketing. As with every year, this year’s conference touches on current topics. The first day will be devoted to sources of financing for micro, small and medium enterprises, which is a major challenge in light of the current situation after the pandemic and the war in the neighborhood and expectations of a major economic crisis.
The second day of the conference will be devoted to women entrepreneurs. In March 2022, under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PTZ), the Women Entrepreneurs Department began operating, and currently has 24 female entrepreneurs with the ambitious goal of networking, mutual assistance, education, awareness and promoting women entrepreneurship. The highlights of the conference on Friday, April 8, will be the competencies that women entrepreneurs need to enter, develop and survive in entrepreneurship.
Thursday 7 April: Sources of financing for micro, small and medium enterprises
The vast majority of companies are small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). However, corporate finance in this group is critical to the future of the business environment, with SMEs creating more than 65% of added value and more than 70% of all jobs!
Despite the significant economic impact of small and medium-sized enterprises, these companies often face challenges. Long-term success is ensured by continuous business growth, increased sales and development, associated with financial investments, which are usually more difficult for these companies to reach.
The conference will present models of available financial incentives, hypothetical risk management and various forms of financing, and on the first day the traditional Spring Wind Award for contributing to the development of the business environment will be presented.
Friday April 8Women’s Entrepreneurship Day 2022: What skills/competencies does a female entrepreneur need?
Despite the fact that the proportion of women in entrepreneurship is increasing, it is still true that men dominate the business world. The mentality that a woman’s most important role is to take care of the home and family is still deeply rooted in Slovenia. Perhaps this is why a woman’s decision to enter entrepreneurship is more complex than that of a man. In any case, personal characteristics, work, perseverance, way of thinking, will and a great deal of wisdom are necessary for success, so that the female entrepreneur thrives in a world that is supposed to belong more to men. What skills are needed to succeed, and how to acquire, upgrade and use them appropriately are the topics of the second day of the Grab the Opportunity Conference.
The conference does not want to be an end in itself.
One of the main strategic directions of PTZ is also organized pressure to accelerate the creation of an environment suitable for the dynamic and healthy development of small businesses. That is why the conference is also aimed at a memorandum of small and medium-sized enterprises, which PTZ will address to the government of the Republic of Slovenia and all related institutions with a focus on the issue of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
Networking is critical in the business world. New acquaintances can open up a lot of new business opportunities, so the program also includes some content. Part of this is the possibility to drive on the training ground, which will be available to all participants on Thursday and Friday after the official programme.
