MediaTek is gaining ground in the field of Android mobile processors. This is mainly due to the quality of the products and the lower prices compared to competitor Qualcomm. So it’s no surprise that MediaTek has recently overtaken rival Qualcomm in terms of the number of mobile processors sold.
It looks like MediaTek will continue to dominate in 2022, having recently introduced a very interesting mobile processor model to the Dimensity family. It is the Dimensity 1300 processor that will easily impress many. This will be intended for devices with a middle price, and the performance will be similar to devices of the highest price category. The first smartphone with a Dimensity 1300 mobile processor is likely to be the long-awaited OnePlus Nord 2T.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 mobile processor is built using 6nm technology. What is new is that data processing introduces eight processor cores. The four high-performance Cortex-A78 processor cores will transmit data at a frequency of three GHz (one core) and 2.6 GHz (three cores), respectively. The four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores will convert data at a frequency of 2GHz. The high-end ARM Mali-G77 MC9 graphics card with up to nine dedicated graphics cores will add the finishing touch.
The new MediaTek Dimensity 1300 supports screens up to 168Hz with resolutions up to Full HD+ (up to 2,520 x 1,080 pixels). Here we also find support for LPDDR4x memories up to 16 GB. With regard to digital cameras, we also find image sensors with a resolution of up to 200 megapixels.
