Amazon Kindle e-book readers are very popular among users, as they offer a lot for little money, and at the same time they have a very long life. As a result, many are already looking forward to a new option that will please many. Amazon will soon offer full ePub support for eBooks for eBook readers.
EPub eBooks are currently very popular among other eBook reader providers. This is, in fact, an internationally recognized standard of the IDPF (International Digital Publishing Forum). This is the same standard as the MP3 music standard. Although Amazon’s solution to support the ePub format is not perfect, it will greatly facilitate the use of such eBooks.
Support for ePub format is undoubtedly a big change for Amazon. For the past 15 years, it has only used its own AZW format. This is actually the renamed .MOBI format, which was developed in 2005 by the French company Mobipocket. The ability to use ePub eBooks on Amazon Kindle readers will be enabled through the “Send to Kindle” service. This is also available as an extension for Windows, Mac, and even Android mobile operating system.
