At the beginning of this year, to the surprise of many PC game lovers, Nvidia has prepared a brand new version of the GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card. It is equipped with up to 12 GB of fast GDDR6X graphics memory, which of course is essential for running graphically demanding PC games. .
The new GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card also differs from the current model equipped with 10 GB of graphics memory in terms of the number of CUDA graphics cores. While the current model has 8704 cores, the new model can house up to 8,960 CUDA cores. The difference is also found in the data carrier. This is now 384 bits instead of 320 bits. In practice, of course, this means higher data throughput, from 760 GB per second to 912 GB per second. This in turn means a better user experience.
Although the 12GB GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card has been well received by gamers, online rumors suggest that Nvidia has discontinued its production. The main reason is said that at present, the price of the GeForce RTX 3080 12GB graphics card is quite comparable to the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. The latter is practically more powerful, so the interest in the GeForce RTX 3080 12 GB graphics card will slowly decrease noticeably.
