The NFT and fantasy worlds They have generally remained separate, and have had minimal cross-experience. At Element, we believe there is fertile ground at your intersection, full of new and exciting ideas just waiting to be discovered.
The NFT It is an artistic medium for visual and creative expression that we wanted to bring closer to users of DeFi protocols. Users create experiences naturally and craft a vibrant story in their interactions with the protocol and the community, off their wallet credit.
The birth of the Elfiverse stemmed from a desire to weave members of the Element community into a world of visual storytelling that augments ownership and belonging in a rich world. DeFi.
When designing a file ElfiverseWe wanted to revive the concept of being a living elf that inhabits the element ecosystem (Element.fi or El.fi for short, get it?). The actions taken by users of the protocol must be visualized in a persuasive way to the viewer, with key elements of the protocol’s story being represented.
We were inspired by films, TV shows and video games that depict elements of the medieval and elven culture that we wanted to bring to life. Games like Runescape gave us valuable examples of the different crafting and inventory systems that we wanted to explore. Game of Thrones was also a good inspiration point to create different environments and make them feel grand and inhabitable.
When creating a file 3D scenariosVisual composition plays an essential role. For example, to visualize the vastness of the elven universe, depth of field and various atmospheric effects are used to create landscapes and environments large enough to capture the entire expanse of the world. To truly show the roughness and ferocity of the Sea of Liquidity, we created a more violent ocean and darkened the sky with thunderclouds, marking the treacherous journey into this new land.
During the creation of this project, we used a set of assets created with pixelated components in Figma. An asset library of more than 150 assets was created to be written to generate unique random choices, creating a file Elfiverse set of 10,000 ELF NFTs.
Asset Library started with money, Created with Cinema 4D, depicting the regional ecosystem of environments that spanned across the Elfiverse. These rich environmental furnishings were scaffolding on which a vibrant visual story could emerge, with fictional characters closely mirroring our arcs.
When we started creating 3D environments, we chose the virtual ones that would validate the original components of the story. For example, the characters in the Elfiverse are constantly traveling and have ventured on a journey to build and find satisfying items to implement their ideas.
The first component was a set of portals that acted as intermediaries traveling between different parts of the world and used to divide the different worlds based on history. These included “Clear Sky”, which refers to peace and tranquility, and “Rivers of Blood”, which were shown to those with a future in battle or struggle.
Create a grid system
with the asset generationwe had to create a network layer system so that the assets being exported are carefully designed in an order that displays all the possible features and features that are ELF NFT may have. Our priority was to create a series of elves that have a variety of appearances, personalities, and an abundance of emotions.
The 32px by 32px grid layer system is designed and originated with different skin colors, weapons, clothes, hair, mouth, eyebrows, eyes, hats, glasses, and accessories. From the green skin to the red skin of the body, each of the body assets was exported as the first layer of the original drawLayer function in the regeneration script.
Design categories and accessories
As the ELF character’s journey and environments have been refined, we set out to define a dwarf class that reflects our community and team. The five foundational classes that were created were Adventurer, Warrior, Ranger, Cleric, and Mage. These categories were created by the props you selected. These props were created in Photoshop and then added to our square layer grid.
We are building on top of an open source NFT generation script from HashLips, which gives you everything you need to launch your own generative NFT project.
Of course, we added some Elf-specific transformations:
- A separate account for randomness From asset creation, to enable testing
- assets and descriptions It is stored in a csv file for easy editing
- Correction code to define connections Collision of colors
- a test Statistical randomness of results
- An identifiable property determined by assets NFT (describe your elf)
This allowed us to get specific QA results, such as creating 100 NFTs all with red background and red hair: do they look good? We decided to keep most of it, including the eyebrows a different color than his hair.
We also built this spreadsheet to check your troll details (this repo is updating it, in a fork Tweet embed). It lists each of the assets that make up your NFT, including its description (not shown elsewhere), which uniquely places your Elf in the Elfiverse lore. The degree of rarity uses a very standard calculation for each asset, which is then added to your NFT.
We recently opened our ELFI contracts which allow community members to build on top of existing NFT infrastructure. We are excited to see what it means for Elfiverse to open for collaboration and potential contributions to the project.
It’s time for a community an item Decide what will be built on top of the existing NFT infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for designers, developers, and creators to discuss how to expand the Elfiverse ecosystem. The possibilities are endless.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be rolling out more content to cover different aspects of the Elfiverse. This will include
- Technical Dive and Overview of Elfiverse’s NFT Contract Structure
- The open source Elfiverse and what it means as a creator or designer. Considerations about the future of the Elfiverse and Element DAO, and ideas to explore.
- Transfer the remaining NFTs from the Elfiverse ELF to the Element DAO Cabinet
We’re excited about the future of Elfiverse and want to hear from you. Join the discord #community and Elfiverse forum channel and join the discussion.
