Firefighters from all over Slovenia have been battling the blazes in Karst for more than 10 days. In order to thank them for their help and sacrifice, Telekom Slovenije started a nationwide campaign to raise funds for the recovery of worn and destroyed equipment.
Telekom Slovenije has joined a national campaign to raise funds for the recovery of worn and destroyed equipment for fire brigades involved in fighting the fires, by donating €20,000 to the Slovenian Fire Brigade. In addition, Telekom Slovenije offers two benefits to all Slovenian firefighters as a thank you, namely the free use of an additional 500 GB of data transmission in the Telekom Slovenije mobile network per month and the free use of any software option offered by Telekom Slovenije TV; Both are for one year. Both benefits are available to both professional and volunteer firefighters, who claim them by showing themselves as members of the Firefighters’ Association of Slovenia at Telekom Slovenije points of sale in August.
Firefighters can take advantage of free use of an additional 500GB of data transfer in all mobile phone packages offered by Telekom Slovenije, meanwhile, the company also gives them a one-year subscription to any software option offered by its TV. Both benefits can be included from August 1 to 31, 2022 by existing and new subscribers who identify themselves as members of the Firefighters Association of Slovenia at Telekom Slovenije points of sale with a membership card or membership statement from the Vulkan Program of the Firefighters Association of Slovenia.
Members of professional associations or unions of firefighters, police officers and their immediate family members can also benefit from a discount on the monthly subscription of the mobile phone package of Telekom Slovenije, in the amount of 30% (new subscribers) or 20% (existing subscribers).

Some communications, especially in the fixed network, were also damaged by the fire, so Telekom Slovenije experts are constantly on the ground and in the affected area to ensure the smooth operation of services with other solutions. In this way, Telekom Slovenije increased the capacity of the base stations and provided an additional power supply with its own aggregates. In this way, uninterrupted communication is ensured for both residents and everyone involved in the management and implementation of firefighting. At the moment, an urgent rehabilitation of the network is already underway at individual sites where it is safe.
