Trump said he would not return to Twitter

Former US President Donald Trump said that he does not plan to return to Twitter, although the new owner of the social network, Elon Musk, has lifted the ban on him.

He said this during the Jewish Republicans’ coalition conference, Ukrinform reports.

Trump explained his decision by the fact that Twitter user engagement is declining as many fake accounts allegedly exist. Therefore, the former president invited his supporters to join his social network. He says that it is supposedly more convenient and he has it “unbelievable user access”.

It is about the social network Truth Social, which will be launched in 2022. Trump announced his intention to create it after he was banned on Twitter.

Ban and unlock Trump

After the events at the Capitol on January 6, social networks blocked Donald Trump’s accounts for incitement to violence. In June 2021, Facebook announced that the ban would last until January 2023, and the former owners of Twitter said they would permanently block Trump’s profile due to “Endorsement of violence”.

And on November 20, Trump’s Twitter account was unblocked. Prior to that, the owner of the social network, Elon Musk, conducted a survey where he asked users if the account of the former US president should be unblocked. The majority chose the “Yes” option. Later, the American businessman announced the return of Trump’s page.
