Cryptocurrency market movers and shakers from the top ten and beyond
Friday’s session was bearish for the top ten cryptocurrencies.
ADA led the way lower, dropping 12.33%, with BNB (-10.66%), DOGE (-10.60%) and MATIC (-9.26%) closing.
BTC (-4.21%), ETH (-7.86%) and XRP (-7.07%) also suffered.
From the CoinMarketCap Top 100, it was a bearish session.
Toncoin (TON) and UNUS SED LEO (LEO) bucked the trend, rising 1.92% and 0.38%, respectively.
However, Filecoin (FIL) advanced all the way lower, dropping 26.34%. Trust wallet tokens (TWT) and Chiliz (CHZ) were among the worst performers, down 19.51% and 14.97% respectively.
24-hour liquidations surge due to cryptocurrency market sell-off
Over the course of 24 hours, cryptocurrency liquidations plummeted in response to Binance jitters and recession fears sending trading volumes soaring.
At the time of writing, liquidations over the 24-hour period were $226.03 million, up from $48.70 million on Friday morning.
The number of traders liquidated over the past 24 hours has also increased. At the time of writing, the number of traders whose accounts have been liquidated is 87,242, up from 13,916 on Friday morning. Cryptocurrency liquidations increased in 12, 4 and over an hour.
