With DeGods and y00s About to Leave Solana, NFT Creator Jumps in to Answer ‘Why’

  • Rohun Vora aka Frank III explains why the NFT project is leaving Solana in 2023
  • The decision was made to support the growth of both NFT projects

DeGod and y00t depart from Solana [SOL] Blockchain has been the talk of the NFT community ever since News Out. These NFT projects are arguably the most important in the Solana ecosystem. The loss of these projects can be seen as a major blow to Solana.

DeGod bails against Solana

Rohun Vora, creator of DeGods and y00ts, hosted one Twitter Spaces A session where he talks about migrating his projects to Ethereum [ETH] and polygon [MATIC]. The space session was attended by Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon.

Fora, who goes by the pseudonym Frank III (@frankdegods) on Twitter, stated that the decision to migrate the chains was made to “explore new opportunities.” According to Vora, the primary reason for the move is to promote the growth and development of both NFT projects.

DeGods will be pegged to Ethereum and y00ts to Polygon in the first quarter of 2023.

“It is difficult to accept, but it has been difficult to grow at the rate we want to. If Ethereum is where we need to go to continue growing, then this is what we need to do.” he added.

He immediately revealed that he had a somewhat bullish attitude when it came to Polygon. The many partnerships the Ethereum scaling solution secured in 2022 were part of the reason he endorsed changing his NFT rule. Polygon has also managed to connect popular names like Disney, Nike, and Reddit for NFT projects.

For owners worried about their NFTs migrating to another blockchain, Vora explained It will be optional and NFT owners can choose to opt out of the bridge.

Funding from Polygon to promote immigration

Earlier this month, Twitter users reported that DeGods requested $5 million from the Solana Foundation to stay on board. A representative from Solana recently confirmed this.

In addition, Vora also confirmed that y00ts accepted a grant from the Polygon Migration Partnership Fund. According to him, the scholarship was not paid all at once and would last somewhere between one and two years.

Users on Twitter too pointed out The stark difference in the affordability of DeGod’s NFT transactions is between Ethereum and Solana wallets. Obviously, only 5,670 Solana wallets have enough to buy a DeGods NFT. The number was much higher in the case of Ethereum, with more than 118,000 wallets holding enough to buy NFTs.
