Cryptocurrency market movers and shakers from the top ten and beyond
Thursday’s session was bullish for top ten cryptocurrencies.
BTC gained 5.04% to lead the way, with ADA (+2.17%), DOGE (+2.69%) and MATIC (+2.68%) also notching strong gains.
However, BNB (+1.05%), ETH (+1.93%) and XRP (+0.57%) fared worse.
Of the CoinMarketCap Top 100, it was a mixed session.
Aptos (APT) led the way, up 22.26%, and shares of Frax (FXS) and immutableX (IMX) saw gains of 16.08% and 9.43%, respectively.
But nexo (NEXO) fell 3.38%, with Avalanche (AVAX) and apecoin (APE) down 2.37% and 2.41%, respectively.
24-hour liquidations surge as BTC returns to $19,000
Over the course of 24 hours, cryptocurrency liquidations continued to increase, with another bullish crypto session attracting more investors with short positions. At the time of writing, liquidations over the 24-hour period were $262.22 million, up from $134.15 million Thursday morning.
Traders who were liquidated in the last 24 hours are also up. At the time of writing, the number of traders whose accounts have been liquidated is 47,582, up from 31,423 Thursday morning. Cryptocurrency liquidations were higher over the 12 hours while declines were over four hours and one hour.
