Cryptocurrency market movers and shakers from the top ten and beyond
It was a mixed session for the cryptocurrency top ten.
Bucking the broader market trend, ADA and BTC posted gains of 0.82% and 0.46%, respectively.
However, SOL led the way lower, falling 3.76%, and seeing BNB (-2.03%), DOGE (-1.97%), ETH (-1.90%) and XRP (-2.46%) also in the red.
Of the CoinMarketCap Top 100, it was a mixed session.
Aptos (APT) and apecoin (APE) are up 7.31% and 7.50% respectively, with optimism (OP) ending the day up 2.80%.
In contrast, Rocket Pool (RPL) led the way lower, shedding 8.50%. Casper (CSPR) and frax (FXS) shares also suffered, dropping 5.63% and 5.52%, respectively.
24-hour settlements remain high in a mixed Saturday session
For 24 hours, cryptocurrency liquidations were above normal levels. Bitcoin and Ethereum liquidations remained higher in a choppy Saturday session, with liquidations split evenly between long and short positions. At the time of writing, 24-hour liquidations amounted to $199.15 million, compared to $256.32 million on Saturday morning.
Traders who liquidated in the last 24 hours are also down. At the time of writing, the number of liquidated traders is 49,966, up from 55,336 on Saturday morning. Cryptocurrency liquidations were lower in 12 and four hours while higher in one hour.
