SOL fell 8.16% to lead the way, with ADA (-6.28%), ETH (-4.78%) and XRP (-4.80%) also leading the way.
BNB (-3.18%), BTC (-3.86%), and DOGE (-1.78%) all saw relatively modest losses.
From the CoinMarketCap Top 100, it was a bearish session.
Bucking the trend of the broader market, dydX (DYDX) and dash (DASH) rose 6.62% and 4.28%, respectively.
However, Flow (FLOW) and bitDAO (BIT) are down 11.51% and 11.84% respectively, with axie infinity (AXS) ending the day with a loss of 10.97%.
24-hour liquidations are reaching their peak amid Fed scare and long liquidations
Over the course of 24 hours, cryptocurrency liquidations returned to normal levels as investors tracked the Nasdaq in the red. Long positions witnessed the highest liquidation percentage, accounting for 88.83% of the total liquidation. At the time of writing, liquidations over the 24-hour period were $161.03 million, compared to $43.53 million Monday morning.
Traders who were liquidated in the last 24 hours are also up. At the time of writing, the number of liquidated traders is 53,503, up from 21,265 Monday morning. Cryptocurrency liquidations were higher in 12 hours while lower in four hours and one hour.
