The long-awaited second airdrop of Ethereum’s Layer 2 scaling solution — optimism — is here. The protocol has distributed a total of 11.7 million OP tokens to more than 300,000 addresses.

- Many were anticipating the second airdrop from Ethereum’s Layer 2 scaling solution, optimism. The first saw around 200 million OP tokens dropped to 250,000 early adopters, some of whom received up to $20,000 in tokens on the day of the event.
- However, this pales in comparison. The airdrop saw 11.7 million tokens distributed to 300,000 addresses based on various criteria.
